Meer informatie over kunstenaar Elzo Dibbets, een kunstenaar die exposeerd bij DeelenArt gallerie.
Elzo Dibbets completed a degree in fine art at the academy of fine art in Arnhem in 1971. His work is characterized by an overwhelming stillness that produces images with a sense of timelessness and elusiveness. Elzo paints to travel, and travels to paint. Both are intrinsically linked together.
Elzo usually starts his art process by applying a white or light grey base with a sponge or brush. He continues by applying various transparent layers of colour, so called “glacis”. During the process more and more details are able to arise until he reaches a complete image. Elzo uses a super fine airbrush and oil paint to create detail in his work. This particular technique creates a subtle out of focus imagery that characterizes his work. In addition, the use of light, especially indirect light, plays an important role. Playing with light and darkness creates images of spaciousness and intimacy.
Elzo has exhibited his work in galleries and museums in the Netherlands and abroad, amongst others at: Valkhofmuseum in Nijmegen, Pulchri Studio in The Hague, Gallery Leerhuys in Brugge, Belgium, the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, Musee Nationale in Monte Carlo, and Vanderleelie Gallery in Edmonton, Canada.
