Sharpen your senses and keep your eyes open. With Senses, Gallery DeelenArt brings photography to life from June 24th. In a rollercoaster of emotions, three upcomming photographers show their sensational images.
With its dynamic street images in which rough contrasts and dynamic lines create an exciting game between light and shadow, sharp and blurred, Eli Dijkers causes an explosion in your brain. The roughness creates a sense of unrest and threat that forces the viewer to look better at the images. What do we really see?
This question is also central to the photography of Vivian Ammerlaan. With her majestic mountains or sharp ice floe, she captures the imagination of the viewer. Overcome by the beauty of nature, Vivian symbolizes this magnificence by creating her own landscapes. The result is multitude of alienating scenes that capture the viewer's gaze.
Susanne Middelberg balance between strength and vulnerability. Her portraits refer to those of the great masters of the Golden Age. Caught in beautiful light, the portrayed expose their emotions and show their inner strength.
The three exhibiting photographers are now well established in the art world and regularly fall into their prizes. The recently graduated Vivian Ammerlaan was nominated for St Joostpenning and won the Young/ Unknown Talent award.
DeelenArt challenges the visitor to play a game with reality and sharpen her/ his senses.
