Pop-up exhibition Breda
Everything is fast, everything is fleeting. Before you know it it is over. In a balanced composition, five artists portray the longing for days gone by. Of course in a pop-up exhibition, because DeelenArt goes with the times. Fast, up-to-date and always ready for something new.
The exhibition will take place in the studio of artist Dominique Ampe. His paintings bear witness to loss, to searching for a way out. Empty spaces in which sporadic attributes bear witness to the past. Garments left behind in front of a barred window. As the title Breakfast with Lucian Freud betrays, Ampe refers not so much to a physical space as to the creation of space in your head.
Besides Dominique Ampe, there is work by Erik Tierolf, Robert Daalmeijer, Rosa Boomsma and Elzo Dibbets. The Painter Elzo Dibbets looks with a fresh look at the world around him. In a flash of recognition he captures that short moment when light plays with reality or when reflection opens the door to the imagination. The past also resonates in the work of Rosa Boomsma. Her new work an unintentional facade immediately catches the eye with its bright red colour and festive dress. However, the woman's gaze tells a completely different story. Trapped in our minds we see a great sorrow that makes her immune from the beautiful hall that surrounds her. With his airy view of life Erik Tierolf flees the everyday in his own way. Robert Daalmeijer also manages to elicit a smile from the viewer. With his still lifes he refers to the old days, but with his titles he plans the viewer back with both feet in the now.
This Pop-up exhibition is the first in a series of exhibitions at special locations. With this new concept DeelenArt brings art close to you. You are most welcome during the festive opening on December 1st.
